Day 23-24 of 100 Days of Making Comics!

Hey, I'm Anna Raub [AKA: Mask Woman from the Turaco Creative Cast] I'm doing the 100 Days of Making Comics Challenge [courtesy of Kevin Cross.]

  • 1/4/2021 - Day 23: I spent an hour drawing little robot creatures that are supposed to do useful things like turning into weapons, armor, or maybe even keys to unlock ancient doors.

[Playing with glow and darkness.]

[Contemplating some armor designs that might be made up of the smaller robot creatures.]

  • 1/5/2021 - Day 24: 30min went into some more concept art. I picked up where I left off on the armor designing. The rest of the couple hours today that I focused on Endstar arrival went into writing.

  • I'm gonna switch up the format for the 100 days of making comics posts, so that they're less formal, and really are just a quick log for the record. This should help to counter my tendency toward overthinking the posts and spending more time then necessary just trying to figure out what to say.

Fun Fact: A lot of characters I've made over the years have been through a written format, but 5 years ago [It'll be 6 soon enough, now that it's 2021] I drew an android OC called Ember. He was the earliest direct influence when creating the character Coda for Endstar Arrival. Ember belonged to a filled out cast of characters that fought cyber-dragons, and stretched the realm of science fiction into fantasy. In the following years 2015-2018 I slowly drew up sprites and other components for the story, hoping to make a game, animation, or comic. I've since developed different stories and worlds to work in, but the legacy of childhood characters lives on in current and future work.

Here I am today working on comics. Though I do still like to think of things having the potential to become a game or animation in the long run.
